IRELAND V ENGLAND SCHOOLBOY RESULTS

Irish internationals Kurt Bowes, Jack Robinson, Sean Higginson and Mike Harty all won their bouts  in today's schoolboy international with England at the Dungarvan Sports Centre in Waterford.
Bowes recorded Ireland's only win at Boy 2 level, while Robinson, Higginson and  Harty were  victorious in the Boy 3 category.
Beijing Olympian John Joe Joyce took part in an exhibition bout with Riverstown ace Rory O'Donoghue today, while Joyce's St Michael's Athy team-mate was in action in a no scoring contest with St Colmans Pa O'Shea.
Shah Khan, father of 2004 Olympic silver medalist Amir, attended today's international in Dungarvan.

 The IABA have named their squads for next Sundays eagerly anticipated schoolboy international with England at the Dungarvan Sports Centre in Waterford. Boxing will begin at 3pm on Sunday. The English squad for the one day international meeting will be confirmed shortly.

EU WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIPS

Defending champion Katie Taylor is straight into into the quarter finals of the 4th women's European Union Championships in Pazardjik, Bulgaria.
Taylor, the reigning World and European champion and AIBA 2008 World female boxer of the year, will meet Italian lightweight Cordio Giacoma in the last eight tomorrow (June 25th).
The bout is scheduled to go ahead at approximately 4pm tomorrow (Irish time).
The winner of that bout will meet either Cindy Orain of France or Erkan Melek of Turkey in Fridays semi final with the victor advancing to face either Denitza Eliseevan of Bulgaria or Aeksandra Paczka of Poland in Saturdays 60Kg final.
Irish team arriving through Dublin Aiport last Sunday with nine medals and the team of the tournament award at the men's EU Championships in Denmark
Taylor arrived in Bulgaria on Monday ahead of the Championships along with her coach and dad Peter Taylor and coach Pat Ryan.
The Bray lightweight, who is defending the title she won in Liverpool last year, is the only Irish boxer at the 4th women's European Union Championships.
